ABSTRACT
Song Terus cave is an archaeological karstic cave in Mount Sewu karst area, located in Wonogiri Regency – Central Java, consist of two cave alley : Song Terus West and East were separated 80 m along by forming of fault trending NS. Song Terus East was choosen by pre-history community than Song Terus West as pre-history dwelling, because it's next to the source of water of ancient doline and because condition of room more is pleasant.
Speleogenis Song Terus mould from change of morphology and cave sediment composition (flowstone) yielded karstic cave, as a reference for conservation model of the Mount Sewu karst area. Spelogenesis was started with forming of cave alley trending NW-SE and NE-SW, rock bedding, and ancient climate change.
There're had taken river streams yielded flowstones, with interval forming of stalactites- stalagmites. Petrography and geochemical analysis show the existence of repeats condition of reduction and oxidation in cave of Song Terus. Decreasing of calcite composition is equal to the increasing of alumino-silikat, Fe-Mn metals, and phosphate's composition, especially MnO as dependent proxy to determinate reduction condition in cave. Song Terus East should to be preserved, because Song Terus East records cave's microclimate change, because aven's natural forming process and phosphate mining in cave had been giving to micro-morphological change in 3 m. Conservation by reboisation, taking care of biotic and abiotic resources, either inside Song Terus cave and also other caves in Mount Sewu karst area.
